Variety Skeds Oct 5-6 Film Marketing Conf


  August 6, 2010—Variety scheduled a movie marketing conference Oct 5-6 in Los Angeles, which is says will become an annual event and assembling the programis media marketing expert Gordon Paddison.

   “Whether it’s dealing with tighter budgets, shorter attention spans, noisy channels, or new platforms and devices, the summit will deliver innovative strategies for box office success now and into the future,” notes a Variety press release.
   Paddison, who operates marketing firm Stradella Road, partnered with Variety. His credits in film marketing include The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the Austin Powers and Blade franchises, Wedding Crashers, The Noteboo, and Sex and the City.
Conference program highlights include:
  • Key insights from the hitmakers and rulebreakers who are championing big ideas and new talent and connecting to consumers in real-time.
  • ‘Life Beyond the Screen,’ a look at how far-reaching campaigns expand the relationship with moviegoers well beyond the cineplex.
