Superheroes, Comedies Dominate Summer Films

    May 2, 2008 – MarketWatch – Comic superheros and comedies dominate Hollywood’s slate for the peak summer season, with ever-present sequels a little less important than a year ago, according to financial news service MaketWatch. “High gas prices are putting the kibosh on summer travel plans for many Americans, so theaters could be filled to capacity more often than not,” notes an article by Russ Britt. Last year’s summer lineup was mostly concentrated toward the start of the season. By contrast, the 2008 schedule is staggered with strong entries well into August.
