NY Times: Disney's 'Ratatouille' Ponders Which Oscar To Chase

Nov. 28, 2007 -- Walt Disney is cranking up the Oscar promotion within Hollywood for Ratatouille – its hit Pixar animated feature that was praised by critics – but risks missing a big award if it splits the vote between Best Animated Film and overall Best Picture, notes the New York Times. The motion picture academy added the Oscar category for full-length animated films in 2002. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast was nominated for Best Picture in 1992, and remains the only animated film ever selected in that category.
