Fandango Rolls Star Interviews
Dec 12, 2012—Online movie ticketing service Fandango is rollout out a series of online video interviews with movie stars that include Richard Gere (Arbitrage), Amy Adams (The Master), Ewan McGregor (The Impossible), Hugh Jackman (Les Miserables), Ben Affleck (Argo) and Keira Knightley (Anna Karenina).
This “The Frontrunners” video series will be hosted by Fandango’s chief movie correspondent Dave Karger, who will also talk about the Oscar race in videos. A press release says that Fandango website site will offer ticketing opportunities for nominated films.
“‘The Frontrunners’ video series is a great example of our commitment to creating high quality entertainment content for Fandango, further enhancing the movie-going experience for fans everywhere,” said Paul Yanover, President of Fandango.
Presumably, Fandango hopes the video interviews will draw some new web traffic and cause those already on Fandango to linger. The draw of star interviews is limited because video is churned out at press junkets and the chit-chat is often not too revealing.
Fandango is owned by cable giant Comcast, which also holds majority stakes in Universal Pictures and NBC Television.
